Most Frequently asked Questions:
Wedding Film Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: How much are your films?
A: Our films are right around $2600.00 on up. We strive to work with couples on their budget and every wedding is unique. We can do simple films or complex packages. We had a couple want a beautiful ceremony edit and it was around $1200.00 We also had a couple want a couple days, a platinum edit, a silver edit for sharing with friends and full toast & ceremony edit all in 4k resolution and that was around $6000.00. Our most popular “package” tends to be up to 8 hours of wedding day coverage, a 10 minute feature film with digital delivery. That runs around $2899.00. Go to our inquiry form and fill out some basic information and we can get you a proposal ASAP.
Q: Do you all use drones for our film
A: YES! we are FAA 107 commercially licensed drone pilots and we use drones for your wedding film. We must comply with FAA 107 rules and regulations but, we will have drone footage in your film. If we can not use the drone during your wedding day due to high winds, venue restrictions, or some other unforeseen reason we will acquire footage near your venue. For wedding shows we offer Scenic footage in which the drone may or may not be used on your wedding day depending on time.
Q: Are you a professional business operating full-time
A: YES! We have been filming weddings, commercials, social media promos, gathering content for the action sports industry and outdoor tv shows full time since 2014 and have been working with couples since 2009. We are licensed in the State of New Mexico and carry professional business insurance
Q: How do you capture sound
A: We take sound very seriously. It is 50% of your film. We use professional lapel microphones to capture audio from first looks, the ceremony and communicate with your DJ on ways to acquire the best sound during your reception. We also find ways to back it up. Lastly, we go around the venue to capture sound… wind gently blowing through the trees, water coming out of a fountain or a trickling creek or river, waves crashing on a beach. We want you to relive your wedding day and sound is extremely important
Q: How many people will be at our wedding filming and will you be there?
A: We utilize 1 and 2 cinematographers. Some wedding show specials include 1 and some packages include 2. There are two aspects to your wedding. One is capturing it and we have group of camera operators that work seamlessly together. My background is in editing and while I do film some weddings, editing and storytelling is my priority for your film.
Q: How long does it take to edit films?
A: Great question! During peak wedding season we finished films around 12-14 weeks. During off season we were at 3-4 weeks. We take editing very seriously! We take your footage and back it up, encode it to a format for better editing, go through your content and mark the best clips, sync audio to video and piece it all together and color grade every clip.
Q: Do We get to pick our our music?
A: I wish we could let you pick any music you would like. If mainstream music is used for your film, most likely facebook, youtube, vimeo or other online hosts will block it, put ads in it or in some cases may fine you for using music with a copyright.
Q: What we need does not fit any of your proposed package, what can we do?
A: Tell us what you need!! Our packages serve as a guide.
Q: What is your style
A: That is hard to describe. We want you to relive your wedding day… so timeless & documentary with some high end cinematic production value would be a good description. We try to be flies on the wall and not intrude on you as your wedding day is about you. We will give a few pointers and instruction during a few moments or if we see something that has that “WOW!!!!!” factor.
Q: Do we get to revise our films
A: Yes, 80% of the time time we can accommodate your suggestions for your finished film based on the footage we acquired. If something special is happening on your wedding day… communicate that with us so we are ready. You have 1 free revision with your film. It is critical that you share with us details about your day so that we do not miss it. But, by all means… any typos that slipped by, a guest appearing in your film dancing that you may not know… let’s get the film polished up as best we can. Please watch a few of our films so you can see our style and make sure it fits with what you dream of.
Q: Our venues are really bright and/or really dark, can you still shoot there?
A: YES! We have spent hours in education on proper light, lighting techniques and can shoot in almost any condition.
Q: Do you travel?
A: YES! We film all throughout the Southwest and have filmed weddings on the East Coast, California, Texas, Arizona, Jamaica, filmed in Africa, Colorado. We do not charge for distances up to 150 miles. Beyond that, let’s figure it out.
Q: Everything looks great, how do we book you?
A: To book your wedding we require a deposit and a signed contract. Please review it and if you need something changed, please feel free to express what you need. Once that is complete we require a non-refundable 25% deposit to book your wedding day. It is non-refundable as we turn away business once your wedding is booked.
Q: What package would you personally get?
A: I would figure out what time my fiancé is starting to get ready. Girls usually start earlier and guys later and end around a 1/2 hour after the garter and bouquet toss. If you have an dynamic exit (sparker, lights ect) let us know as I, personally would want that in my film. I would want 2 edits for good reason. A Gold (10 minute) or Platinum (15 minute edit) and a shorter edit either 1 min or silver (5 minute edit) to share with friends over coffee. Most people over lunch do not have time to watch a long edit on a phone. Lastly, I’d film it in 4k resolution. The quality and beauty with 4k is amazing. It is like watching Planet Earth. Then, I would get a USB with the 4k file and Blu-Ray.
