The woman who broke the ice and my tears -Kazinga Refugee Camp

Africa Films

In mid-november I was contracted by Impact Nations to go to Kolonga, Uganda and Arusha, Tanzania to document the humanitarian and mission work that they do. It was life changing. I remember going to Kazinga Refugee camp and being completely frozen as I starred across the mass of humanity that was deserted there just months prior. I did not know where to start. A woman tapped me on the shoulder, slowly walked around me and stood 8 feet away and pointed at my camera and held her head high. It broke the ice and the tears. I also witnessed the transformation of a village through educating the families living there about developing spring wells, and farming. In Arusha, I saw thousands impacted through medical clinics and visited a Massai Village in the hills of Tanzania. As I time-lapsed a beautiful tree a young child tried to chase me with a stick. I learned respect and trust must first be given. Enjoy these films. They are amazing and some of my life's best work.
